How this site is paid for.
Some links here are Amazon affiliate links. If you buy through one we earn a commission at no extra cost to you, and it never changes what we recommend.
In practice that means the books on the reading list. Egyptian Mythology is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising programme designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon. Our associate tag is egyptianmythology-20, and it is appended to those links so a purchase is attributed here.
What it does not change: nothing on the reading list is there because of a commission, every entry carries a stated reservation, and the section titled “read with care” recommends against the single best-selling book on the subject. A list you cannot argue with is worth nothing, and a list arranged around payouts would be exactly that.
Where a listing could not be matched cleanly, the link opens an Amazon SEARCH rather than a guessed product page. Editions of these translations differ by a century of scholarship, and sending a reader to the wrong one to earn a few cents is a bad trade.
Prices shown were read when the page was built and will have moved since. Nothing here costs you anything extra.
