What it meant
The goddess Wadjet, placed on the king's brow, spitting fire at whatever comes.
Where you see it
On every royal crown and headcloth. Doubled with a vulture head on some queens' crowns. In rows along the tops of shrines and walls.
What gets said that is wrong
Read as an emblem of royalty. It is a defensive weapon, positioned facing outward, which turns the crown from an ornament into a piece of equipment.
